Webinar Series 1 Oct 2026 9:00-10:15am EST Hosted by SBFN

Unlocking Adaptation & Resilience Finance: Helping Financial Sector Move From Climate Risk Assessment to Investment

Webinar postcard

Adaptation and resilience (A&R) finance is rising on the sustainable finance agenda as countries face increasing exposure and vulnerability to floods, droughts, cyclones, heatwaves, and other climate-related hazards. For financial sector, the challenge is no longer whether adaptation matters, but how to translate climate risk and resilience considerations into practical approaches that can inform policy, supervisory dialogue, market guidance, and investment decision-making.

The webinar will start with an expert overview of the “what, why, and how” of A&R investments for financial institutions: what constitutes credible A&R activities, assets, and financial products; why they matter for financial stability, risk management, competitiveness, client engagement, and sustainable growth; and how financial institutions can create the enabling conditions to identify, assess, and finance resilient projects.

The discussion will then examine how peer institutions have overcome implementation challenges and translated climate and physical risk assessments into policy and market action, stronger business cases, and investable pipelines. Speakers from a central bank, a banking association, and a financial institution will bring complementary policy, industry, and market perspectives, sharing how they have turned A&R priorities into practical frameworks and investments.
